Four people were killed and three others injured after a mine buried by rubble in the village of Sobola Nyamalinde outskirts of Geita, Geita region.

Regional Police Commander of Geita, Mponjoli Mwabulambo said the incident occurred yesterday at around two in the morning in the quarry owned by citizens despite having already banned yalishapigwa continue to work on it.

Mponjoli said the incident occurred after 7 people enter into the mine, but shortly afterwards kikawaangukia rubble, killing four people, with three of them coming from the safe in spite of having injuries.

Amewataja people who lost their lives that included Robert Kazegemwa, Jeremia Emmanuel, Kenya and Julius Timothy Mwita.

The injured included Doubts Samuel, Justine Safari and words Lusika who are undergoing treatment at a hospital in Katoro.

Mponjoli commander has said in the school, students were in exams and then fled from the classroom to save where due and shoving, one student was injured but already kwishapatiwa treatment is safe
